Research Evaluation and Open Science: UCA awarded funding for the OSQuAR-UCA project.

Project Coordinator

Valérie LEGUÉ, Open Science and Information Systems Officer, and Associate Professor at the Laboratory of Physics and Integrative Physiology of Trees in Fluctuating Environments (PIAF).

Project Manager

Camille COMPAIN (camille.compain@uca.fr).

Project Overview

Since 2022, UCA has been a member of the Coalition for Advancing Research Assessment (CoARA), an international coalition aimed at reforming research assessment by promoting more qualitative, responsible and transparent practices.

By joining CoARA, UCA has committed to adhering to its ten core principles. To support this transition, the university will rely on the OSQuAR-UCA project (Integrating Open Science into the Qualitative Research Assessment Reform at Université Clermont Auvergne), which was selected for funding under the 2025 CoARABoost call.

The project addresses a key challenge: integrating open science practices into the qualitative assessment of research, in line with European standards and CoARA principles. A working group composed of volunteers, members of the Research Council, and representatives from CP2E has been established to jointly develop qualitative assessment criteria.

OSQuAR-UCA is one of only two French projects selected under the CoARAboost call, highlighting the university’s strong commitment to fairer and more qualitative research assessment practices.
